Things to Watch

You can find RSS feeds to several notification sources on our Watches and Warnings page. This page includes RSS feeds. While the page intends to be useful, those who are dealing with warnings should monitor their EMO Office and primary sources of information. Those sources can be found on the Current Conditions page.

Watches refer to situations that may arise. The focus is on being aware of how things unfold in case you need to respond. Warnings apply when certain conditions or actions are imminent. It is no longer about being aware; it is about ensuring you are getting prepared.

General activities are focused on the following:

  1. Atlantic Storm season (hurricane).
  2. Pacific Storm season (major storm)
  3. Extreme precipitation.
  4. Wildfire.

You can follow these through the Watches and Warnings page or through the Current Conditions page.

Site Updates

Phase 2 of the site production continues. While Phase 1 focused on building the “basic” site to a point where it became useful (and thank you to the many who provided feedback), this phase focuses on the refinement of that presentation to make it easier for people to use. If you have suggestions, feel free to reach out through the Contact Form.
